Starizona MicroTouch Low-Profile Stepper Motor Auto Focuser - MTAF-LPSM
Starizona is excited to introduce a new low-profile motor designed for our popular MicroTouch Autofocuser, specifically engineered to seamlessly integrate with Feathertouch Focusers from Starlight Instruments.
This innovative motor is compatible with both the Feathertouch SCT MicroFocusers and 2" Feathertouch Crayford focusers, providing versatile focusing options for a wide range of telescopes.
While this motor is a valuable addition to most setups, it's important to note that it may not be suitable for the Feathertouch SCT MicroFocuser designed for the original C14 due to its reversible collar.
However, it is fully compatible with Edge HD C14 models.
This new motor design addresses a common challenge associated with Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes and the Feathertouch SCT MicroFocuser.
The previous MicroTouch focus motor, being in line with the focuser axis, sometimes extended further back from the telescope, potentially causing interference with cameras or other accessories.
The revamped low-profile MicroTouch motor resolves this issue by providing an additional inch of clearance.
Achieved by shifting the motor off-axis, it allows for flexible orientation, including a downward position as depicted in the accompanying image.
This not only enhances usability but also ensures that the motor cable plug aligns seamlessly with the telescope setup.

The newly designed low-profile motor maintains the high level of precision found in its predecessor, offering 300 steps per turn for fine-focus adjustment (or 3000 steps per turn for coarse focus).
Existing MicroTouch controllers can be seamlessly upgraded to incorporate this new low-profile motor.
Additionally, all new MicroTouch units intended for SCT MicroFocusers now come equipped with the low-profile motor as a standard feature.
