I still have to mount it but I’ve been playing with it and I’m very impressed with the clarity and the adjustments are excellent. Already ordered my 5th Athlon. Can’t beat their bang for the buck.
I ordered the Athlon Optics Argos BTR GEN2 10-40x56mm BLR SFP MOA Riflescope from Red Carpet Telescopes. Their costumer service rep contacted me and informed me that it would be a few weeks for the optic to be shipped as it was out of stock. He gave me The option of switching my order to another optic, or waiting for the product to be in stock at their Canadian warehouse. I chose to wait and He kept me updated the whole time with the status of my order. Their costumer service representative was very professional and helpful.
The Optic itself is surprisingly well made and has preformed very well for me. The glass is extremely clear at lower magnification and still good at 40x magnification. The 1/8 MOA per click turrets are great, as they are large, easy to use with loud and positive clicks. The zero stop function on elevation is very easy to use and works well. The parallax turret has a great range of focus. The reticle is beautiful and very intuitive to use.
The scope unfortunately doesn’t come with a sunshade, but lens caps were included.
Overall I love the optic, and was very happy with the costumer service from Red Carpet Telescopes.
Sorry for the delay but I had an issue with an upper receiver I purchased which caused the scopes windage knob to be turned all the way to one side. I didn't think it was a scope issue but wasn't sure. I had to send the upper back and they confirmed the rail was crooked. I just got it back and remounted the scope and sighted it in after bore sighting it. It was perfect with minimal adjusting. I can't say enough good about this scope so far and it is my first Athlon product. I would buy another for sure. Red Carpet was great to deal with and shipped the scope out quickly with excellent service. My next scope purchase will be from you for sure!!
This double stack filter makes it like a whole new scope. I always think it's worth double stacking if at all possible.
This product was the first Telescope that ive purchased that wasnt meant for amatures or sold in Walmart/Dicks sporting goods. I am very happy with my purchase, and any of the negatives that i bring up in this review do not fall on Red Carpet Telescopes or the Bresser 208mm scope itself, but fall on my ignorance.
i really was unaware of how much larger this telescope was going to be in reference to my old 114mm cheap National Geographic Newtonian, and i could not believe the size difference, and the increase in quality.
this telescope is very very easy to use, and collimate, and the light that it is able to capture is amazing! with the correct mounting set up i would have an even better experience but for now my DIY set up will do. There is some light diffraction due to the F ratio being 3.9, which is fine when taking digital images but is a bit frustrating when viewing by eye. i have done more research and it looks like a coma corrector filter will fix tgis issue, and i am going to try this. I am so amazed by this telescope and i will probably have this for the rest of my life.
if you are looking to purchase this model, be ready for the size and make sure to have the proper mounting either with a well made equatorial tripod or a large heavy duty DIY mount thats able to handle about 25/30lbs. ALSO THIS PRODUCT DOESNT COME WITH THE SPOTTING SCOPE _ it has the mounting bracket but no scope so dont be suprised if it doesnt exist when you get your package.
(SIDE NOTE) this telescope was advertised as a 208mm f/3.9 bresser but when i got the telescope the actual marking on the tube stated that the primary was 210mm and the focal length is 800mm not the advertised 812mm. its not a big deal but might throw you off.
My research into choosing appropriate birding binoculars indicated that 10x42 was the way to go. I homed in on this particular model and can say that they are bright and precise, and really prove their stuff in low light landscpes.
We ordered a telescope as a gift, after tremendous support and learned advice from Matt!
Engraving was beautifully done and the recipient LOVED his birthday gift.
I've owned a few Bino's over the years. These bino's are pretty much perfect!
As a person looking to own a quality spotting scope without breaking the bank, I can say that this one checked off all of the boxes on my search list. Quality optics and easy to use, happy days!
LUNT 80mm ED Doublet Refractor OTA Telescope
Had these Bino's out on a weekend hunt recently. They are so great. Clear optics. I was able to range out to 2700 yards no problem! That was the highest I could get it to range. I compared the built-in range finder to my handheld range finder and it's accurate. I'm very pleased with these and this purchase. The GPO Warranty is excellent.
Very happy with the customer service not to mention the excellent quality of the 62 degree 9mm lens.
Explore One Aurora II Flat Black 114mm Slow Motion AZ Mount Telescope
I was worried that this lower end model may have been cheap and shoddy, I was wrong. We're having fun with it.
Really enjoy this weather station. Has lots of good features.
