This comprehensive kit facilitates the conversion of non-HyperStar-compatible SCTs into fully compatible telescopes.
Comprising three key components, it seamlessly replaces the original secondary mirror assembly.
Installation entails the careful removal of the original assembly, beginning with the corrector plate.
Subsequently, the baffle tube is unthreaded to facilitate the removal of the secondary holder. The secondary mirror is then extracted and securely placed into the new holder.
This assembled unit is then reattached to the corrector plate and reinstalled into the telescope.
Following installation, a precise collimation of the telescope optics is required.
Notably, this collimation remains intact even when the secondary mirror is removed for HyperStar imaging.
The removal of the secondary mirror is achieved through a threaded ring.
While temporarily removed from the telescope, the secondary mirror is safely stored in an included holder provided with the HyperStar lens.
Please be aware that the older orange-tube Celestron SCTs feature secondary mirrors with a distinct mounting method compared to current models.
This necessitates a modification to the Conversion Kit, incurring an additional cost of $50.
