Explore Scientific Twilight I Adjustable Angle Alt-Az Mount - MAZ01-00
Introducing the Explore Scientific Twilight I Alt-Az Mount! The Twilight I is a versatile alt-azimuth mount and tripod system tailored for light-to-medium-duty applications.
Designed with convenience in mind, it readily accommodates small to medium-sized refractor telescopes, including models such as the AR102, AR127, ED102, and the ED80.
Additionally, lightweight and fast Newtonian telescopes find an ideal companion in the Explore Scientific Twilight I mount.
As long as your telescope does not exceed 18 pounds and features a Vixen-Style Universal Dovetail bar for mounting, you're all set.
The Twilight I's alt-azimuth mount head is constructed from powder-coated aluminum and boasts worm gears on both axes for precise control.
What sets it apart is its adjustable angle head, which can be tilted forward or backward at a 45° angle.
This feature provides more clearance for your telescope, allowing you to point it directly overhead for zenith viewing.
Enhancing your stargazing experience, slow-motion control cables are affixed to both the vertical and horizontal axes.
These cables are designed for effortless manipulation, even when wearing gloves, thanks to the generously-sized knurled knobs at their ends.
You have the flexibility to attach them to either side of each axis to accommodate both right and left-handed users, or different telescope types such as refractors and Newtonian reflectors, simplifying adjustments.
The included stainless steel tripod is not only durable but also highly adjustable.
Its legs can be customized to your preferred height, providing stability and a solid foundation for your telescope setup. With a wide footprint spanning 42 inches, the tripod's stability is further enhanced.
To minimize vibrations and ensure a secure setup, a spreader bar locks against the inside of the legs. This ensures that your stargazing sessions are free from unnecessary disturbances.
