Explore Scientific ED102mm f/7 Carbon Fiber Air-Spaced APO Triplet Telescope - FCD100-10207-CF-01

Presenting the Explore Scientific ED 102mm FCD100 Series Carbon Fiber Air-Spaced Triplet Telescope.

This model retains the benefits of our metal-tube ED102 series, but its carbon fiber construction significantly reduces weight, enhancing performance on any mount.

Boasting genuine HOYA FCD100 ED glass, akin to OHARA’s FPL-53, we've achieved a breakthrough in high-performance optical glass production.

This, coupled with high refractive index glass, enables unrivaled chromatic aberration correction, placing HOYA FCD100 among the finest ED glass variants.

With true diffraction-limited optics, this telescope invites impromptu stargazing sessions.

Its air-spaced triplet design nearly eradicates chromatic aberrations, while HOYA FCD100 ED glass and EMD coatings on all optical surfaces yield brilliant, high-contrast imagery.

Equipped with a robust 2.5" Hexagonal focuser capable of supporting up to 10 lbs of equipment, this telescope offers both precision and versatility.

The ED102 Carbon Fiber f/7 Air Spaced Triplet features HOYA FCD100 optics, a 714mm focal length, and includes a 2.5" HEX Focuser with two extension tubes, a Cradle Ring with Handle, and a Vixen-Style Dovetail Plate.

The Explore Scientific 2N1 Finder Scope Base is pre-installed, along with a 99% Reflective 2" Diagonal. Weighing just 9.3lbs. with cradle, please note that the case and Finder Scope are not included.

  • 102mm Objective Lens: Precision-crafted for excellent light-gathering, the 102mm objective lens facilitates detailed observations of celestial objects, including planets and deep-sky phenomena.
  • 200x Highest Useful Magnification: This telescope has the capability to magnify objects up to 200 times their original size, allowing for detailed and close-up observations of celestial bodies such as planets, lunar features, and other astronomical objects.
  • 714mm Focal Length: Allows for strong magnification, perfect for closely examining planets, lunar details, and deep-sky objects. It also enhances image quality for astrophotography when paired with suitable gear.
  • Carbon Fiber Construction: The carbon fiber body not only reduces weight but also enhances durability. It's resistant to temperature changes, making it an excellent choice for various observing conditions.
  • True Apochromatic Refractor: The telescope's specialized lens elements are meticulously designed to correct for chromatic aberrations. This ensures that colors are faithfully represented in images, providing accurate renditions of celestial objects.
  • Diffraction-Limited Optics: Engineered to be diffraction-limited, the telescope's optics are finely tuned for optimal sharpness and clarity. This results in high-definition images, even when observing fine details.
  • Air-Spaced Triplet Optical Design: This high-quality design effectively eliminates chromatic aberrations, producing images with exceptional clarity and contrast. It's well-suited for both visual observation and astrophotography.
  • Genuine HOYA FCD100 ED Glass: The telescope integrates authentic HOYA FCD100 ED glass, which significantly improves color accuracy and reduces color fringing. This premium glass type is highly regarded for its superior optical properties.
  • Enhanced Multi-Layer Coatings (EMD): The optical surfaces are treated with Explore Scientific's proprietary EMD coatings. These coatings boost light transmission while minimizing undesirable reflections, leading to enhanced image quality.
  • 2.5" Hexagonal Focuser: The telescope features a robust 2.5" Hexagonal focuser, providing stability for precise focusing. Its larger size allows for smooth adjustments, particularly beneficial when using heavy eyepieces or astrophotography equipment.
  • Integrated Dew Shield: The integrated dew shield serves as a protective barrier against dew formation on the lens. This feature is invaluable for maintaining clear views, especially in humid or cool conditions.
  • Cradle Ring with Handle and Vixen-Style Dovetail Plate: The cradle ring securely holds the telescope and includes a handle for convenient transportation. Additionally, the Vixen-style dovetail plate offers compatibility with a wide range of mounts, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Explore Scientific 2N1 Finder Scope Base: This feature simplifies the process of attaching a finder scope, facilitating the location and centering of celestial objects within the telescope's field of view. It adds an extra level of convenience to the observing experience.
  • 99% Reflective 2" Diagonal: The 99% reflective 2" diagonal mirror ensures efficient light reflection to the eyepiece. This results in brighter and more detailed views, particularly when using 2" eyepieces, providing a comfortable viewing experience.
  • Inclusive Accessories: The package comprises a 99% reflective 2" Diagonal, a Cradle Ring featuring a handle and Vixen-Style Dovetail Plate, a 2.5" Hex Focuser accompanied by 2 Extension tubes, a Dew shield, an Explore Scientific 2N1 Finder Scope Base, all backed by the reassurance of a limited 1-year warranty.
