Explore Scientific Generation II 20-inch f/3.6 Truss Tube Dobsonian Telescope - DOB2036-00

Introducing the Explore Scientific Generation II 20-inch f/3.6 Truss Tube Dobsonian Telescope- a powerhouse for deep-sky enthusiasts, boasting our largest aperture.

Its 500mm mirror gathers a whopping 5100 times more light than the naked eye, revealing planetary and deep-sky details even to novice observers.

This telescope brings star clusters to life, providing stunning resolution, and witnessing the moon's terminator is an unforgettable experience.

The telescope features a swift 20" f3.6 main mirror and a generous 120mm secondary mirror, both crafted from high-quality quartz for rapid cooldown, ensuring speedy readiness.

Each main mirror is accompanied by an individual optical test certificate to ensure peak performance.

With a laser-engraved center mark for easy alignment, the optical surface boasts a high-quality aluminum coating with 94% reflectivity and a resilient quartz protection layer, guarding against dew fogging and damage, ensuring a long lifespan.

The Dobsonian telescope revolutionized amateur astronomy by offering a simple yet effective design, delivering unparalleled light-gathering capabilities.

This scope provides exceptional value for your investment. Tool-free disassembly facilitates transport, even in compact cars.

The entire structure is optimized for maximum rigidity with minimal weight, featuring high-altitude bearings and lightweight aluminum components for smooth, high-magnification adjustments.

A comprehensive redesign enhances stiffness and load-bearing capacity while eliminating rivets and screws in favor of TIG-welded connections.

The result is an incredibly rigid yet lightweight 20" Dobsonian telescope that sets new quality standards.

Most mechanical components are manufactured by partners in Hungary, with final assembly and quality control conducted in Rhede, Germany.

Additional features include a second 40° offset mounting plate with a viewfinder shoe, six sturdy feet beneath the rocker box for stability and smooth azimuth tracking, and fans in the mirror box to adapt to ambient temperatures rapidly and reduce boundary layer interference.

The lateral altitude wheels can be conveniently stored within the foam layers of the mirror box.

The telescope includes a 2.5" HEX focuser with helical gearing and a 10:1 reduction, an LED Red Dot Finder, a collimation assist tool, a soft light baffle, and two radial main mirror fans for quick temperature stabilization.

It's also compatible with our optional coma corrector for advanced observations.

                                                  Amazing/Powerful Dobsonian

Keep note that this Telescope did not come with Eyepieces, so they will need to be bought separately. I picked up a 25mm Eyepiece and a Barlow lens, which gave me the freedom to double the power of the Eyepiece’s magnification. Though I’ll probably purchase some additional Eyepieces soon (most likely waterproof, as I use this Telescope outdoors). I’d recommend using a variable adjustment filter when viewing the moon with this Scope, as it can be quite bright. The Red Dot Finder Scope is excellent in helping me align the Telescopes with great accuracy. I’d definitely recommend this Telescope to astronomy enthusiasts that are looking to explore the universe without limits!
