Explore Scientific iEXOS-100 HD PMC-Eight Equatorial Tracker System - ES-iEXOS100-ET

Introducing the Explore Scientific iEXOS-100 HD PMC-Eight Equatorial Tracker System, an all-inclusive astronomical computerized WiFi or Wired GOTO Equatorial Tracker.

This system incorporates integrated PMC-Eight™ electronics, delivering exceptional observing and imaging capabilities without breaking the bank.

You can operate it with the free ExploreStars App for Tablets* (compatible with Windows, Android, Amazon, and Apple), or employ the free ASCOM Standards Compliant PMC-Eight™ ASCOM driver and the ASCOM POTH Client from Explore Scientific, either through a wired or wireless connection.

GoTo systems hold immense significance in amateur astronomy, minimizing the time spent searching for celestial objects and maximizing time dedicated to observing and imaging.

The PMC-Eight™, with its versatile connections supported by free downloadable apps for Windows, Android, and iOS, as well as the free ASCOM PMC-Eight™ driver and POTH Client for your preferred ASCOM Compliant Astronomical Software, offers remote telescope control, from a few feet away to computer-to-computer communication with an Internet connection worldwide.

A standout feature of the iEXOS-100 HD system is its German equatorial design, renowned for precise tracking.

It follows celestial objects as they traverse the night sky, making it easy to keep targets in your eyepiece for observers and aiding imagers in avoiding field rotation issues.

Finding celestial objects can be daunting, but the iEXOS-100's powerful GoTo system simplifies sky navigation, alleviating frustration.

This integrated Explore Scientific PMC-Eight™ system surpasses industry standards by employing an 8-core microcontroller with eight independent CPUs, offering superior responsiveness, efficiency, reliability, and rapid timing intervals for seamless image acquisition and precise tracking.

Despite its internal complexity, the GoTo system operates effortlessly from your Apple, Android, or Windows tablet using the intuitive ExploreStars app.

This app features an extensive database regularly updated to remain a relevant resource.

The iEXOS-100 boasts thoughtful design elements, including smooth locking clutches for quick repositioning, an altitude knob for height adjustments, a polar alignment tunnel for rough alignment with Polaris, and a bubble level for stability.

Additional features include a battery pack bracket (batteries not included), two 1 kg counterweights, and glow-in-the-dark markers on the mount and tripod for nighttime orientation.

The mount accommodates up to 19 lbs. (scope, accessories, and counterweights combined).

Features:

  • Impressive Payload Capacity: The iEXOS-100 boasts a robust payload capacity, capable of securely supporting telescope setups, accessories, and counterweights, totaling up to 19 lbs. This generous capacity accommodates a wide range of optical equipment for observational or imaging purposes.
  • Precise Azimuth Adjustment: The azimuth adjuster adapter is included to facilitate precise polar alignment adjustments. This feature ensures that your equatorial mount is accurately aligned with the celestial pole, crucial for tracking celestial objects, especially during astrophotography sessions. It helps eliminate any tracking errors and field rotation.

  • Illuminated Polar Alignment Scope: The illuminated polar alignment scope is equipped with reticle markings for both the northern and southern hemispheres. This feature is indispensable for achieving precise polar alignment, a critical step for astrophotography. It provides visual guidance for aligning your mount with the celestial pole, allowing for longer and more accurate exposure times when capturing celestial objects.

  • Camera Attachment Dovetail: The camera dovetail plate simplifies the process of attaching your camera to the mount. This accessory is especially valuable for astrophotographers, as it provides a secure and stable platform for mounting cameras, allowing you to capture stunning long-exposure images of celestial objects with ease and precision. It ensures that your camera remains securely attached during extended imaging sessions.

  • Astronomical Computerized Equatorial Tracker: This system is a complete computerized equatorial tracker, featuring WiFi and Wired connectivity options. It utilizes the PMC-Eight™ Precision Motion Control system to facilitate precise tracking and navigation of celestial objects, enhancing both observing and imaging experiences.
  • Flexible Control Options: The iEXOS-100 can be controlled via the ExploreStars App for Tablets, compatible with Windows, Android, Amazon, and Apple devices. Additionally, it supports the free ASCOM Standards Compliant PMC-Eight™ ASCOM driver and the ASCOM POTH Client, enabling compatibility with various sky software that supports ASCOM standards. This flexibility allows users to select their preferred control method for seamless operation.
  • German Equatorial Design: The system features a German equatorial mount design, renowned for its ability to precisely track celestial objects as they move across the night sky. This design is essential for keeping objects centered in the eyepiece for observers and avoiding field rotation during astrophotography.
  • Enhanced PMC-Eight™ System: The integrated PMC-Eight™ system stands out with its advanced design. It incorporates an 8-core microcontroller with eight independent CPUs, each assigned specific functions. This design results in superior responsiveness, efficiency, reliability, and rapid timing intervals, ensuring smooth image acquisition and accurate tracking.
  • ExploreStars App: The ExploreStars App, available for Apple, Android, and Windows tablets, offers an intuitive interface for telescope control. It simplifies alignment, sky navigation, and provides information about tens of thousands of celestial objects. The app's database is continually updated to remain current and relevant.
  • User-Friendly Design: The iEXOS-100 is designed with user convenience in mind. It includes smooth locking clutches for quick repositioning, an altitude knob for precise height adjustments, and a polar alignment tunnel to assist in rough alignment with Polaris. A bubble level aids in tripod stabilization.
  • Included Accessories: The package includes an Equatorial Mount Head for celestial tracking precision, a Tripod for stable support structure, a PMC-Eight Hand Controller for automated navigation control, 2 Counterweights and Shaft for balancing telescope weight, a Polar Finder Scope for enhanced polar alignment, an Azimuth Adjuster Adapter for azimuth adjustment flexibility, and a Camera Dovetail Plate for secure camera attachment.

        Love it so far!

This is my first equatorial mount. So far has been great. Very sturdy for my use and does a great job tracking with my iPad. It handles my telescope and camera without issues. I had to get an extra counterweight, but that was expected.

The manual is lacking, but isn’t hard to figure it out. Also not a fan of the polar scope position, but not a big deal.
