Losmandy Dovetail Plates set the standard in strength and rigidity for mounting telescopes and telescopes accessories, which added greatly to the reduction of flexure of the instruments on telescope mounts.

The DAP 4/5/6 7 Dovetail Plate is designed specifically for all Astrophysics refractor optical tubes from 4-inches to 7-inches. It attaches with bolts to the existing threaded holes in either the top or bottom of the tube with the mounting rings that are come standard with these Astrophysics refractors. Laser engraved scales on the side of the plate allow for faster balance adjustment when mounting the scope or the accessory is attached. 

The plate has a dovetail that slides into the 75mm wide dovetail slot of a Losmandy D-series equatorial mount saddle plate that is standard on Losmandy GM-8, G-11, or Titan mount. It can also work on other D-Series equipped other manufacture mounts.

With the addition of another DAP 4/5/6/7 Dovetail Plate. the telescope can support Losmandy D-series accessories, piggyback adapters, photoguide rings, or the counterweight system.

All of Losmandy's products are characterized by precision all-machined surfaces to last a lifetime (or longer). The sharp corners of the dovetail are removed and beveled with a radius curvature, to prevent the dovetail from hanging up in the mounts saddle plate and to make it easier to mount the optical tube to the mount, or to attach accessories designed for the D-Series Dovetail Plate. In addition, the plate is hollowed out for reducing weight without reducing strength.

Dimensions of the DAP 4/5/6/7 Dovetail Plate are 0.7" thick x 4" wide x 14" in length, with 12.325" hole spacing. Weight is 2.4 lbs.
