Vaonis Telescope Comparison: Stellina vs. Vespera vs. Vespera II vs. Vespera PRO vs. Hestia

Discover the differences between the full line of Vaonis Smart Telescopes - including the latest and greatest: Vespera 2, Vespera PRO, and Hestia!

Vaonis offers a few different Computerized Smart Telescopes, each with their own unique features and capabilities. The different Vaonis Telescopes that we will be comparing are the StellinaVespera, Vespera II, Vespera PRO, and Hestia.

NOTE: The Stellina, Vespera, Vespera II, and Vespera PRO Telescopes are designed primarily for Deep Sky Astrophotography, and not for viewing and/or imaging smaller objects such as Planets. However, you can still view Planets and their distinguishable characteristics (Rings of Saturn etc) with these Telescopes, they will just appear smaller in the Field of View (FOV).

Vaonis Stellina
  • The Vaonis Stellina offers a fully automated observing experience. It uses advanced imaging technology and AI to automatically locate and track celestial objects, making it easy for users to take high-quality astrophotos. The Stellina is also portable and easy to set up, making it a great option for astrophotographers on the go. Note: Stellina has been discontinued.

Vaonis Vespera
  • The Vaonis Vespera is a popular choice for beginners and intermediate users. It is a compact and portable telescope that offers excellent image quality and ease of use. The Vespera uses a unique curved mirror design that provides a wide field of view and eliminates distortion. Note: Vespera has been discontinued and replaced by Vespera II.

Combining cutting-edge optics with advanced smart features, the Vespera PRO delivers unparalleled image quality. This telescope offers the ultimate stargazing and astrophotography experience, bringing the universe into stunning HD focus with ease.
 Vaonis Hestia Smart Telescope
Vaonis Hestia

  • The Vaonis Hestia Smart Telescope introduces a revolutionary way to explore the cosmos by turning your smartphone into a powerful observation tool. Designed for ease of use and accessibility, Hestia allows you to capture stunning images of the Sun, Moon, and deep space objects without the need for complex setups, advanced astronomy knowledge, or breaking the bank. Simply place your smartphone on Hestia, align it with your celestial target, and let the Gravity app guide you.

    Main Differences:

    1. Stellina: The Stellina is designed for deep-sky observation with an 80mm aperture, a focal length of 400 mm, and an apochromatic doublet lens with very low dispersion glass. It features a 5-hour battery life and utilizes an external power bank for power supply.

    2. Vespera: Compact and portable, the Vespera features a 50mm aperture, a 200mm focal length, and an apochromatic quadruplet lens with extra-low dispersion (ED) glass. It offers an 8-hour built-in battery life and has a wider field of view compared to Stellina.

    3. Vespera II: The Vespera 2 maintains the portability of its predecessor with a 50mm aperture and an improved focal length of 250mm, utilizing the same high-quality apochromatic quadruplet ED lens. It features a significantly higher resolution image sensor than Vespera 1.

    4. Vespera PRO: The Vespera PRO stands out with a 50mm aperture and a 250mm focal length, featuring an apochromatic quadruplet lens and the same high-quality glass as the Vespera II. It is tailored for astrophotography, boasting an 11-hour built-in battery life, the highest-resolution image sensor in the entire Vaonis lineup - and a square resolution & FOV for detailed captures.

    5. Hestia: Unique as a smartphone-based smart telescope, Hestia has a 30mm objective lens and a patented six-lens optical design. It is lightweight and portable, requiring no built-in electronics or batteries. Hestia is designed to work with your smartphone to capture images of the Sun, Moon, and deep-sky objects. It is ideal for beginners or anyone looking for a simple, accessible way to explore the night sky at an attractive price.
